Enrollment

Students who reside within the district boundaries may enroll at any time. Bonny Doon Elementary School accepts interdistrict transfers on a first-come, first-serve basis from the greater Santa Cruz County community. Availability of space, among other things, affects the number admitted into the school from year to year.

Class Placement Policy

Because we are a very small school with only six classrooms, we are limited in the structure of our classes. Each year, we will have two or more mixed-age classes. Please see our Class Placement Policy to find out more about how we make decisions for these classes.

Family Handbook
At the beginning of each year, parents receive a copy of the Family Handbook, a helpful guide to such things as school hours, how to communicate with staff, parents' rights and what to do in an emergency.

Wellness Policy
Schools play a vital role in childhood nutrition and fitness, and as part of the larger community, schools have a responsibility to promote family health and provide a strong foundation for the future health and well-being of their students. Significant research indicates a positive relationship between adequate nutrition and learning, resulting in academic success. Read more about the school's Wellness Guidelines.

Technology Plan
In order to get funding for their technology programs, every school must write a Technology Plan which cites the school's approach to technology and outlines the school's specific commitments as to how it will work to bring technology to its students.
